Policy and Guidelines

Policy 7.12 Visiting Scholars and Visiting Students

Emory University encourages the collaborative exchange of ideas fostered by faculty, scholars and students from other institutions who visit Emory. The purpose of the visitors’ policy is to set forth a transparent and consistent process for receiving visiting faculty, scholars, and students and to ensure that all applicable rules and regulations are followed in hosting such visitors. This policy does not prohibit schools or units from adopting additional, more stringent requirements as long as they do not contravene the standards set forth in the policy.

Policy 7.11 Export Control

U.S. export control regulations and trade sanctions can impact various research and academic activities such as conducting sponsored research, engaging in international collaborations, international travel, and hosting international visiting scholars among others. The Export Control policy establishes the basis for procedures and processes necessary to ensure Emory’s compliance with export control and trade sanctions regulations while maintaining a research and academic environment that fosters collaboration.
