Annual Disclosure
What is the Annual Disclosure Process?
Disclosure: A report of whether or not you have an outside activity, relationship, or interest with an external organization related to your institutional responsibilities.
Emory University's Conflict of Interest (COI) in Research Policy requires individuals responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research-- Examples –faculty, post-docs, research staff, part-time/temp research staff, etc., to submit during the annual disclosure/certification cycle.
You will receive an email reminder to complete your Annual Disclosure/Certification from December to February to:
- Review the training page in the online submission platform. As the discloser, only you can certify that you have completed the training
- Review and update any previously reported outside interests
- Disclosing any new outside interests
You will get a notification via Insight to complete the Annual Cert/Disclosure during the Annual Certification Cycle in the online submission platform. This option will only be available during the during the Annual Certification Cycle (Dec. to Feb.).

complete the following steps:
- Log in to Insight
- On the Dashboard, you will see the Annual Disclosure form appear under the Disclosures module in the Activates for Review list. Click the Annual Disclosure form required. The Emory Annual Disclosure form instruction page opens.
- You can also navigate here by clicking Disclosures on the Dashboard or the menu on the left, then clicking Activities for Review.
- The Annual Disclosure form must be completed between December and February. NOTE: This function will be available only during the Annual Certification cycle.
- Review the Emory Annual Disclosure Form instructions and click Start Annual Cycle.
Per our Emory COI policy 7.7, all Covered Individuals* are required to disclose.
*Covered Individual: Person responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of Emory Research which always includes the Principal Investigator or Project Director. In addition, other persons may include, but is not limited to: a. Senior/Key Personnel, consultants, postdoctoral fellows, trainees, visiting scientists, and Research personnel (e.g., Research coordinators, Research nurses, etc.); b. External Collaborating Entities/Individuals and Subrecipients who do not have a policy compliant with 42 CFR Part 50 Subpart F and 45 CFR Part 94; c. Students enrolled at Emory who are responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of Research managed by Emory under a grant or contract. A student's supervising faculty member who is in doubt about whether the student is a Covered Individual must request a determination by the COI Official.
